EPO4YOUTH

EPO4YOUTH – Advancing Juvenile Justice and Detention Conditions in Europe

EPO4YOUTH is a 30-month Erasmus+ project coordinated by Antigone Onlus alongside nine European partner organisations within the European Prison Observatory (EPO) network. The initiative specifically aims to strengthen and consolidate the EPO network, expanding its capacity, cohesion, and overall impact in the field of juvenile detention and youth justice across Europe.

By refocusing and uniting the established EPO network around youth justice, EPO4YOUTH addresses the unique challenges faced by young people in conflict with the law. Key objectives include enhancing cross-border collaboration, gathering updated national research, and establishing a European Open-Source Data Hub to support evidence-based policy reforms.

Additionally, the project actively engages civil society and equips young journalists with tools for ethical, rights-based reporting. Through peer learning, targeted advocacy, and systematic monitoring, EPO4YOUTH reinforces network cooperation while promoting humane, equitable, and transparent juvenile justice systems throughout Europe.
